How Often Do Normal Married Couples Fight?
Arguments in relationships are normal and even healthy. But how much does the average couple fight in a year?
Couples spend 40 minutes a day arguing over household chores and have 135 fights a year, according to a new study.
The research, conducted by UK home insurance company esure, found that the biggest causes of domestic dispute included leaving clothes strewn around, not doing the washing up, concealing stains and putting off home improvements.
“Forgetting to take the rubbish out or making a shoddy DIY attempt may not seem like serious crimes but as the research shows, domestic chores can cause arguments even in stable relationships,” says Mike Pickard of esure home insurance.
Pickard also points out that apart from being annoying, putting off home improvements and failing to fix faulty appliances could cause hazards around the home.
